November listening sessions

During November 2020 we offered 8 exclusive, intimate listening sessions in our store, inspired by Japanese Kissa bars. They were available for one person together with a friend or household and was by reservation only. The idea followed after we had our first “proper” listening session for 10 people in mid October while it was still fine. As the new rules stated that one could only meet 2 people, we thought to try an experiment - where we would offer intimate listening sessions as a way to still be able to enjoy a cultural experience. 8 different couples/friends/solo people came over for the different dates, which was highly successful and a really great experience.

4 of the available dates included a record of our choice, and 4 had a record of the visitors choice. We´d make a nice atmosphere in the shop, offer a small bar with drinks and try to make it as comfortable as possible. During listening, we would turn our sonihouse speakers on high volume and turn the lights down for maximum immersion. Think of it as a sort of audio-cinema experience.

We had very varied and international visitors, whom all found out about it in different ways - something that surprised us. Some people knew about us already while some randomly came over it through a recommendation, found flyer, mailing list or by simply by stopping by the shop.

We thank everyone who came and took the chance to meet strangers in such an intimate setting. We doubt this would have happened outside of the situation. A small piece of optimism during a very dark year.
