Nothing left but silence is a series of riso printed photographs inspired by the musical album with the same name and subtitled as “visual improvisations from the subconscious”. The images have been taken in Menorca, Denmark, Switzerland and Italy between 2019 - 2023. Eight of the photos have been framed as a compliment to the eight musical pieces on the album. Additionally, the extended amount of images come as an accompanying art book that expand on the artistic framework around the title. Both the musical album and the art book will be available in our webshop from August! Erik is also making ongoing short music videos for each piece of the album. Watch : “Awaiting”, “The slow harvest”, “Observing the lights from above”, “Quiet states of anxiousness”. More to come…

Erik K Skodvin (1979) is a Berlin based Norwegian who mainly works as a composer for film and as a musical explorer. Mostly known as a musician under the aliases Svarte Greiner (& half of Deaf Center) as well as the owner of the label Miasmah, he is educated as a graphic designer and has created the cover artwork for up to a hundred different records since the late 90s. On the side Erik has been a vivid photographer since the early days, and always has a camera on hand to try capture the perfect atmospheric moment. He usually focuses on a certain stillness, wherever it may be found - where light & shadows fall just right for an otherwordly setting.
His design, artwork and music typically aim for being on the border of the real and the unreal, often surreal and dreamlike. The process of creating either music or visuals is seen to him as different sides of the same coin. His different musical projects and releases are available from our shop.
Erik says he is inspired by dreams, the subconscious, surrealism,
shadows, light & darkness, moments of beauty.
